PERFECT SKI DAY! We skinned up at Lagunita, a good bowl just on the edge of the ski resort at Catedral. The weather was great and the view from the ridge AMAZING! Erin and Sarah, both students at Spanish in the mountains and friends, with Mt Tronador at the back.
In light of the recent avalanches that have ocurred in the area the last few weeks, we are holding an avalanche awareness and snow safety class. The course is taught by Fernando Armani and Bicho Fioirenza, both local mountain guide instructors in Bariloche. The course consists of 4 Friday classes, from 7 to 10pm and covers snowpack assessment, route selection, mountain weather, etc. It is taught in Español.
